Collin College Kicks Off Spring Dignity Initiative Series with Two Events in March

Collin College will kick off the spring Dignity Initiative series with two events in March. Both events are free and open to the public. The Dignity Initiative is a districtwide effort organized by the Collin College Committee Against Gender Violence and Oppression to educate and provide action steps to end gender-based oppression.
The events planned for March are the following:
Healthy Relationships and Creating a Consent Culture
March 5, 2:30-4 p.m.
Andrea-Mennen Welcome Center multipurpose room (W105), McKinney Campus
Amy Lawrence, The Turning Point educator, will address what healthy relationships look like, common warning signs of unhealthy relationships, and how to create a healthy culture of consent.

Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric Film Screening and Moderated Discussion March 21, 3-5 p.m.
Living Legends Conference Center, Plano Campus
In this 2017 documentary film Katie Couric travels across the U.S. to talk with scientists, psychologists, activists, authors, and families about the complex issue of gender. The film is 92 minutes long and rated TV PG. A 25-minute moderated discussion will follow the film screening.
